Beautiful blazer but sizing off

Purchased this blazer for my spouse in his regular size 42R in blue. The blazer is well made and the blue check is classy. However, the cut is too narrow for him to button. It says “classic fit” in the description but that may not be correct. If you are thin, thus may work for you.
