Men's Free RN Commuter Running Sneakers from Finish Line
Product details
Web ID: 2833733Annoyingly squeaky when slightest bit wet
Like other Nike Free's, this shoe is very comfortable and light. The sole has a major shortcoming: the grooves in the foamy sole are just very thin slits. These slits seem to allow even the tinniest bit of water into them and then make a squeaky sound with EVERY STEP. It continues to squeak for a long time after entering a building. Doesn't get dry quickly. This is incredibly annoying. I can't wear these on a rainy day.

Looks nice but quite different from previous FREE RN releases and with a faulty toe tip
I've been running with the Free Runs since they were first introduced, and latest pair was the Free 3.0 ID. I purchased the Free Run CMTR thinking that it would be a good pair to replace my previous shoes, but after receiving them noticed that the upper mesh is actually quite different from my previous shoes, the sole is not as flexible as the 3.0, and that the top/foot tip part of the upper mesh was damaged - there's a big dent/crack on the mesh tip that increases when one puts the shoe on. Otherwise looks like a good shoe but due to the manufacturing fault and the more stiff feel would gladly exchange to the Free Run Flyknit.

Comfy pair of shoes
Bought these as a pair for school. Im usually a size 11 in everything but the shoes run a little narrow so Id say bump it up a half size. Overall they are comfy and very light. Good for being on your feet walking from building to building. The color isnt as dark as shown on the website. More of a faded grey.

I have 6 pairs of these Free RN Commuter and I love the sock-like fit and flexible minimalist sole. I have also noticed the "dented" toe but only on 2 of the 6 pairs I have. It doesn't bother me and doesn't affect the fit or function for me. I also have a bunch of Free 5.0 and Free RN, because I am absolutely addicted to the flexible Free sole design. I don't consider the Free RN Commuter shoes to be "running" shoes, but rather just good looking casual shoes. I "could" run in them but I think the Free 5.0 and Free RN, and Free RN Distance, are much better suited for running. The Free RN Commuter shoes just give me another option to wear with jeans or shorts, versus wearing the Free 5.0 and Free RN all the time.
