GREAT VALUE, PLEASED, PLEASED, PLEASED!

In the past I sporadically ice fished, but without a shelter. After buying this shelter, I added 3 months of ENJOYABLE fishing to my year! I researched many ice shelters and am pleased that this one met the great value I hoped it to be. Very well made with two reliable entrance zippers, several clear windows, and even some ventilation screens that I just discovered on my last outing. I've never sat in an insulated shelter, and while this one is not insulated, with a 15,000 BTU propane heater inside, I shed my coat. 10 - 12 sturdy anchors are included as well as anchor strings which I learned this week in windy conditions are needed to prevent the wind side from collapsing in. 6 anchors plus 2 anchors to hold the anchor strings (did not use all anchor strings) held up to 20+ MPH winds this past week (but setting it up in the wind took some planning and extra bodies to keep it from flying away!). Unless you always fish alone, I would recommend the 6 man instead of 3 man shelter as the extra space is very nice and allows for more holes within the shelter. Enjoy!

Winter shelter.

Easy to set up and take down. It is very large and a lot of room inside. Can fit 8 chairs easy. Highly recommend getting one.

This thing is magic.

Wow, we got this as an afterthought to take to an endurance race where weather was expected to be around 30f all weekend. We knew we would be out in the cold for 9 hours a day and wanted a place to get in and keep warm as much as possible while not leaving trackside. Many were skeptical but as soon as this thing went up and the first person hopped in, it was true love. This is sturdy, well made and stood up to decent wind gusts with no problem. Even when it was around 20f, having a few people inside made a huge difference in the temp. Between body heat and a little sun, the tent warmed up at least 15f and once we added a tiny heater it stayed over 50f easily and was comfortable enough that people and electronics functioned flawlessly with near zero suffering. The size was also a huge surprise. Its big enough to have 5-6 in it without being in each others laps and small enough that it can go up about anywhere and not be intrusive. Its a very efficient design and uses space very well while setting up and tearing down in just a few moments. We are looking forward to trying this in the summer as well. The double walls and good light blocking should protect the inside pretty well and adding one of those little indoor AC units with a hose vent should allow one of these to stay chilly cool and just as cozy in the hot summer sun as it keeps warm in the frigid cold. If these folks want to make bigger or different designs please let us know as these things are super nice.

Very nice tent for Cold winter temps

I've use this tent in=40c wind chill and with a 12000btu heater, I was down to my fleece jacket. The low windows are nice and two doors are very well made. The tent was a little stiff to get folded up in the very cold weather but the storage bag is generously made. The dark interior is also really nice for sight fishing and is quite dark. I would recommend this for 2-3 people with gear to fish in. Its a very well made and for the price, it beats all other tents out there.

Excellent quality, easy to put up.

This tent is larger than the one I had previously since the bottom fares out a bit. Three or four can fish inside easily. The quality is good, and seem stitching is strong and it is easy to put up. I have read that some complain about the carrying bag but I found to to be well designed with padded shoulder straps for carrying across the lake. Inside there is a heavy canvas type bag for the 6 ice screws and there are two adjustable straps for holding the tent against the wind. The ice screws are well made and hold the tent well in a string wind. The fibreglass poles are a little thinner than my previous tent but have held up well in numerous outings this winter. The only drawback is the short plastic nibs to cover the tips of the ice screws. I thre these out and bought some foam pipe insulation and cut these into 6 inche pieces. I place the screw tips in these and back in the bag. No changce of leaving these on the ice when packing up.

nice bag. Stupidly easy and quick to set up ...

nice bag. Stupidly easy and quick to set up and take down, and shove it back in teh bag. Though i would've preferred a bag that zipped up the side, but this one only opens in the top. Only fished in -6c to 0c weather, but we'll be taking it out in a forecast -24c to -17c in a few days, so we'll see. Though we'll still have a heater this time around. The anchors were very easy to turn into the ice. I almost bought the drill attachment, but i think it'd be a waste. Although black interior, the number of windows made it surprisingly bright. Nice materials throughout. Man, is his thing big! You could comfortably fit 4 geared-out fishermen in it. Maybe 5. Any more would be a stretch, if all adults. Yes, it's warmer than the previous shelters I've been in. No feel of wind at all, no condensation. It's nice be able to stand up straight. Even my 6'5" friend was able to stand. The only other large pop-up shelter in the ice that day was.. the same one. Doors are a bit small, but it's understandable, and having 2 of them is nice. Only two smallish pockets, and the mesh pockets are confined to the seems, so the shape isn't all that useful for more than a large item like a coat. Will be getting some hangers or utility hooks for next time. The only issue i had is that one of the metal discs covering a hub was bent once we put it up. If it was due to a defect, or from pulling the side out, we don't know. But it removed it and was able to bang it flat again in a few seconds.
