Bought these for an upcoming vacation where I'll be doing a lot of walking/touring sites. Immediately loved these black ballet mary jane flats as soon as I put them on. Tried them first without socks to see how stiff they may be so I could figure out how much wear and tear would be needed to break them in and there was NO discomfort. They're soft right out of the box and are great for medium or wider foot people (I'm a wide foot girlie myself and looked around for awhile before settling on these highly rated wide foot friendly mary janes). The black leather is nice quality, not shiny or cheap looking at all. I also love love love the cursive monogram buckle which adds an elegant and unique touch while still being sturdy. I passed on several other mary janes because the buckles looked cheap, oversized and would stand out too much (gaudy hardware look). I'll be purchasing these in the velvet chocolate as well because I enjoy them so much and they'll pair well with even more looks. And like my mom always said, if you really love something get it in multiple colors because you never know if you'll find it again. Highly recommend!!!
