Gray, not black and very brittle

Disappointed because I bought two sets of these and gave away a full set from another store. Perhaps the stoneware makes a difference? The color is deceptive and the pieces themselves chip very easily. Will be replacing these shortly.

Gray...not black as pictured!

The photo shows black and red....these are light gray. Pretty, but do not even resemble the photo! I thought perhaps the wrong dinnerware had been shipped. I had to return.
