Profoundly Disappointed

After testing many mattresses and making a careful selection, I was so excited for the delivery. The mattress that I received was shockingly disappointing. Its surface is extremely flat and feels like you are lying on a table, made of foam core. It has absolutely no give at all. My sons say it feels like a rock and neither of them could imagine sleeping on it. I returned to the store, to check the mattress I selected, again. I could not believe the extreme difference. Trying to lie on it is a very bizarre feeling. It's like floating on a table top. The mattress is extremely dense and very little give. There is not a bit of cushioning, like the store sample has. I know that it is supposed to have a break in period. But, there is no way that my sleeping on it is going to break in that mattress, to the extent that it turns into what I tried, in the store. I've started the return process and it is being picked up.
