Should be as good as the regular size pillow.

I've used the regular size memory foam pillow for years. Decided to order the travel size but haven't tried it yet. I think it would be great support for the back if sitting in a chair.

Kind of Firm

I wanted a pillow that would form around my head and neck as I slept in my recliner, but this is way too firm for that. If you touch it with your hand, it's soft enough, but in actual use, it's too firm when half sitting. I even took off the outside cover, but it did not help. Still, it's a pretty nice pillow, and if you like smaller pillows, or want it for your bed when traveling, or want it for lumbar support, I'm sure you'll like this. Just a note, the outside cover smells like bleach, even after being laundered.
