Inconsistent sizing

I ordered 4 pair in different colors. One pair fit OK but the others were from 1" to 1 1/2" smaller. Ordered in petite so thought the length would fit as petite have always been right for me. Loved the colors, texture and quality for the price. Even the one fitting pair I thought I might keep was a little snug but ok. Will be sending them all back since they won't exchange at same price. I had even ordered them on tax free weekend for Tn. Now if I can just figure out how to send these back and try to find some more that's affordable.
