I purchased two Sylvania dash cams in 2020 (one pro and one basic). They have been great dash cams, but apparently Sylvania has reduced their standards for the newer production. I purchased a new Sylvania dash cam in 2023 and it is completely useless. The camera gives a message that the card must be formatted but everytime I try to format the card the device becomes frozen on the "formating card..." screen. It will not even manually power off, the reset button must be pushed and then it just returns to saying the card has to be formatted. It also does not turn on consistently. This is not a power supply issue because I have swapped it out with the older cameras and they work fine. It is just this brand new, junk out of the box, 2023 Sylvania dash cam that is the problem. Sylvania you had a really great product, what happened?! Wasted my money, really dissapointed.

Good basic dash cam
This is a great entry level camera. Video quality is good, settup is simple the supplied cords are plenty long to run without being intrusive. Only thing I wish it had was the ability to hook up to a rear back up camera other than that I think it's a solid product.

Needs improvements
Hi This device has a good package content except memory card which was not working. It has a tool to remove device from windshield which was handy. Extra layer of tape was good idea. Installation was not easy. Actually there is a sticky layer which hold windshield strong but settling up picture tilting and adjusting was hard. It is not able to turn to left-right just up and down is possible. But it's magnetic holding mechanism was perfect. It was a good idea. Running performance was poor to me. Its memory card needs to be formatted when it is full. It is not deleting by itself from the most previous footage. It is manual and needs to be formatted. While driving it is restarting and asking you to format it which is annoying. I couldn't watch recorded videos from device. You need a computer separately which is not handy. Video quality didn't satisfy me. It is focusing on dirts on windshield. Night recordings are not enough.
