Resolving the major problems of Buddhism

Ryuho Okawa is the only person who has ever been able to explain in easy to understand terms, what the true teachings of Buddhism are and why the original teachings of the founder of Buddhism - Shakyamuni Buddha are universal teachings for humankind. Also the huge misunderstanding about the meaning of 'egolessness' and 'innate enlgihtenment' and 'acquired enlightenment' by many modern Buddhist sects.

A Life Changing Read

Ryuho Okawa's teachings on Buddhism are different from all others. Most modern Buddhist publications usually fall into one of a few categories; they are a rehashing of earlier teachings, or a secularization of original teachings (which strip away the essence). Okawa's Buddhist publications differ from these, as they remain true to Shakyamuni Buddha's original teachings while simultaneously bringing them forward, expanding upon them, and making them relevant and accessible to the contemporary human landscape. Buddhism is known throughout the world today and elements of it have become integrated into many aspects of our globally interconnected civilization. The Challenge of Enlightenment is a foundational text that can, and I believe will, facilitate a sense of pragmatic universality to the prevalence of Buddhist thought and practice.
