Great Book

This is the first book I have read in years, and I think this book is certainly amazing. I am now planning on trying to get all the books this author has out.

THE WHISPER MAN by Alex North My first Alex North book and it’s a doozy! If you love psychological thrillers, and police procedurals, you’ll enjoy this one. I was sucked straight into this story. A town with a dark past. A serial killer who lures children from their homes by whispering through their windows. A kid whose imaginary friend is a little girl in a strange dress. A boy in the floor(!!). Butterflies. A creepy house! This has all the scary things I love to read about. The prose is unsettling, sad, and suspenseful. The twists were believable, but not too predictable. I especially enjoyed the different character POVs and the realistic father/son relationship dynamics. Overall, a great read for thriller fans and a solid debut. Looking forward to reading more by North in the future. Rating: 4.5/5 ⭐️

Fav

This book has been my one of my fav books for quite a while. It is not too scary but will get you creeped out a bit and won’t let you put it down. Not a point in the book where it seems boring or off topic.

Loved it!

I really enjoyed this book. I was gifted it by a family member and read it immediately. At first I wasn’t sure about it, but the more I read it the more hooked I got. I myself love a book where I can try to put together the pieces of the puzzle myself - don’t we all love that. It is definitely creepy, so if that is your vibe this book is a good way to go. This book is one that’s hard to put down. I read mostly at night, and there were times when I stayed up a little too late reading and then lied in bed with my eyes open! Absolutely the kind of book I am looking for, it makes your skin crawl. This was my second Alex North book and I was very impressed. I love Alex’s writing, the ability to really show you the details of a father-son relationship and the reality of what it’s like to suddenly become a single father. The plot unfolds so clean, it’s such a good read. But if creepy keeps you up at night maybe make this a morning read!

Creepy and Thrilling

A super creepy and thrilling read that keeps you turning the pages! I loved the supernatural element that this added. I enjoyed the different points of view between detectives and a father and son. Giving insight into The Whisper Man police case, as well as adding a more relatable element with a normal family’s experience. The book wasn’t so scary that it kept me up at night, but it provided just enough thrill to keep me on the edge of my seat with suspense of what would happen next. There’s not just the thrill of a possible ghost and serial killer, but also the mystery behind the original killings and how the current events are connected, especially since the supposed original serial killer is in prison. There were several twists that I hadn’t expected, making this a great book. I couldn’t put it down and look forward to reading more from Alex North.
