Book 2 in a series

When you live in a small town the dating pool can feel even smaller and now that Merry is ready to get back out there she is caught off guard when someone on her dating app catches her attention. She finds herself looking forward to each new message even though the new foreman at their family's Christmas Tree Farm seems like he would be quite the catch. Encouraged by his son, Clark decides it's time to add someone else to their dynamic duo and signs up for a dating app. Messages begin to fly back and forth between Clark and his mystery woman but he also can't seem to get his boss's daughter out of his mind. When KnottyGirl25 and Woodsman27 finally get around to meeting they realize they may just get everything on their wishlists. "There's Something About Merry" is the second book in a series by Codi Hall. Even though this is book two you could pick it up and wouldn't be confused. Though this is your typical holiday romance read there are some heavier undertones. Both stories in the Mistletoe Romance series are a fun way to kick off your holiday reading season.

I Want To Live In Mistletoe!

Cute story taking me back to Mistletoe, Idaho and the Winters family. This time, the fun centers around Merry Winters as she comes to terms with figuring out who she is and what she wants out of life. There aren’t a lot of options in this small town when it comes to finding the one, so Merry decides to try her luck online. Little does she know, but the man who has captured her attention on the dating website is the newly hired foreman at her family’s Christmas tree farm, Clark. In real life, Clark keeps Merry at arm’s length. He would like to meet someone but as a single dad, he needs to keep his son’s well-being his top priority. He decides online dating would be fun with not a lot of drama. I really enjoyed the rapport they shared and seeing their chemistry build, hoping it would continue once they meet in real life. This story is narrated by CJ Bloom and Lee Samuels and the performances were wonderful, with the right amount of emotion and humor blended in. The characters are very likable and easy to relate to and the story flowed smoothly and with so much warmth that I felt like I knew these people, or very much wanted to, at least. My Final Verdict: I enjoyed reconnecting with the Winters family and catching up with the characters I met in the first book. As this is a sequel, I recommend reading the series in order to get a better understanding of the characters and the events that have transpired previously. Fans of Christmas themes and fun romances will enjoy this offering. I look forward to the next story and seeing the Winters family again.

Delightful and funny!

There’s Something About Merry is a beautiful, heartwarming and funny small-town Christmas romance that gives you all the feels and leaves you wanting more! The story started a little slow for me but once I got my footing, I was immediately whisked away to Mistletoe, Idaho where an enchanting and exuberant family–aptly named The Winters–own a bustling Christmas tree farm. And on this farm there is a rugged, sexy foreman named Clark and his super cute seven-year-old son Jace. Because of a painful past, Clark holds his emotions and feelings close to the vest keeping everyone at arm’s length, with the exception of his son and brother. But working on the farm and being accepted into the Winters’ family fold, Clark finds his smiles are less strained and more frequent, except when it comes to The Winters’ oldest daughter Merry. She’s a temptation he doesn’t want or need… or does he? Merry has been back home at the farm healing from a bad breakup. Her dream is to take over the Christmas tree farm after her dad retires and is having a hard time trying to convince him she is serious. She’s pretty peeved her dad hired a new foreman to work the farm and doesn’t feel like her dad trusts her with the family business. I mean, yeah Clark is super handsome and once upon a time, she had a crush on him when he worked at the farm when they were teens, but he didn’t feel the same. Clark's cool demeanor towards her confirms her feelings about his disinterest… until some things start to happen and Merry isn’t so sure she’s correct in her assumptions. I absolutely LOVED this book! Merry is wonderfully kind, quirky, so funny and has a heart of gold. I absolutely loved her! All the characters are amazing, well thought out, lovingly crafted and so easily relatable! The storyline is fun, heartwarming and everything you want in a Christmas romance. I did not want to put it down! I laughed, loved and got a little misty-eyed with the cute and fun storyline, amazing characters and funny dialogue! The story is so sweet and so heartfelt and it gave me so much joy to read. I am an absolute fan of Codi Hall now and I cannot wait for the next book! There is definitely Something About Merry and it’s absolutely delightful! I highly recommend this wonderful Christmas read! **I voluntarily read a Net Galley copy of the book generously provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. This in no way influences my thoughts and feelings about the story**

Christmas with a bit of spice

Merry is single, Clark is a single dad they both live on Merry's parent's Christmas tree farm and start to get to know each other a bit better. At the same time they are also chatting to each other online but don't realise who they're chatting to... Within the first few lines I knew I liked Merry and could relate to her and her interests. I loved how quite a few of the character names were Christmas/holiday/winter themed! I loved pop culture references in the book, the crafty things that Merry makes (read it it's so funny!) Clark is an amazing dad and a hunky woodsman who has skills with his hands (in more ways than one ) There is some spice but it's not the main focus in the book. The story line is so sweet and just a feel good story, Merry has an incredible family who welcomes guests and makes them feel like they belong and quite frankly I'm jealous. If you like: Miss communication Single dad Family Christmas Crafts Unrequited to requited love then this is the book for you! Thank you to @netgalley And @sourcebookscasa for the arc copy in exchange for my honest thoughts.
