SLIGHTLY Disappointed... but Only Slightly.

Slightly off color. Flatter and more beige/tan than the rich, polished cognac of the product photos. This might be remedied by polishing with a good quality shoe cream but, the leather is slightly thinner and of slightly lower quality than I expected (think a half step to a step below a Cole Haan or a Bostonian) which makes me concerned that the leather might not accept the cream well. The textured, football leather portion of the boot looks and feels like a painted synthetic which was my single greatest disappointment with the shoe. The size was just about perfect but, slightly small in the toe box and the toe box is unusually hard, which makes me afraid to allow a break-in period. It just feels unforgiving. The sole is slightly too thin, even for a dress boot. I'm sure it's a passable sole as far as wear but, the proportions just aren't aesthetically pleasing in person. Slightly off. I really wanted to love this shoe but the sum of its slightly offs equaled a deal breaker for me.

The boots are very good, but the size is little small. I bought the size 8.5M, but it was even smaller than another boots (8M) I bought in the same order.
