It's designed to cover a full-frame sensor and offers a focus range from 2:1 magnification to infinity. The 100mm focal length is a favorite among macro photographers, but most 100mm macro lenses on the market only reach a 1:1 (life-size) or smaller magnification. This can make capturing smaller subjects a challenge. The Laowa 100mm 2:1 Macro lens, however, offers a wider magnification range, allowing photographers to capture subjects of any size, making it one of the most versatile macro lenses available. Despite its wider range, Venus Optics has managed to keep the lens size minimal, comparable to other 1:1 macro lenses. This lens also features an apochromatic (APO) characteristic, ensuring chromatic aberration is virtually invisible.
