I really enjoyed this book! It’s funny and romantic and a little smutty with magic and a heist thrown in to make it extra fun.

Witcha Gonna Do?
3.5 Stars The title is cute and how can you not love this cover? It’s absolutely gorgeous! This is my first read from Avery Flynn and I have some mixed feelings about it. I love the synopsis of the book and I love the enemies-to-lovers theme between Tilda and Gil. I love Tilda’s character. She’s funny, charismatic and an absolute joy to read about. But she struggles being seen and being important in a family of magical overachievers. Tilda is trying to find her place in this world, but is always getting into some kind of embarrassing kerfuffle in front of an audience who is live streaming her mishaps online for the world to see. Tilda is a beautiful character, easily relatable and I just wanted to hug her. The characters are what won the book for me. They are many with uniquely diverse backgrounds and vital to the book. I absolutely loved them and all their whimsical idiosyncrasies! The chemistry between Tilda and Gil was potent. I felt they gelled well together, but the balance between them seemed off somehow. I think that has to do with the storyline. What bugged me about the book was the world building. It felt incomplete to me. This is the first book in a new series but I felt lost some of the time while reading and I wished there was more background on this world and the characters and how this book world operates. I mean, I could get the gist of what was happening but throughout the book, I felt like there should have been more explanations about the magic and the witches part of the storyline. This felt like it was the second book in the series where the majority of the descriptive information about the witch hierarchy, how the magic works and character development were explained previously. I kept feeling like things were missing, like I wasn’t “in the know.” Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy the book, the characters and dialogue were fun, funny and kept me engaged in the story, but all the holes in the storyline and plot kept me from being invested in the characters and this world. There is so much wonderful material here and this series shows a lot of promise. I am not sure if I’ll check out the next book, but I would definitely read this author again. **I voluntarily read a copy of the book generously provided by the punisher in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. This in no way influences my thoughts or feelings about the book**

Not well written
I wouldn't normally feel it necessary to leave a review, but almost all of these reviews were written at the behest of this publishing house, and there is no reason for them to be so positive. It's not a good book. The cover is beautiful and engaging, but a book should be popular because it's good, not nice to look at with reviews that are manipulated. The tone is light and the lingo is very internet meme. If that's a tone you like, that's a draw. The problem I have is that the story is so poorly framed. By page 50 some of the ebook, I was confused by a major plot hole wherein the Council, the same Council that was described as thought to be an urban legend by all witches, was then also described as every witch's worst nightmare with the ability to exile witches. If they did that, they'd obviously not be an urban legend. I can't really believe this went through an editing process and the actual structure of the story wasn't even thoughtfully critiqued so the author had a chance to fix basic flaws in world building. The descriptions are at times cute but the characters are so ridiculous and plot trajectory so transparent I couldn't enjoy this. I don't appreciate how obviously manipulated these reviews are to help this book take off online. This is wasting the space for an actually good book to become successful.

Highly Recommend
I bought this book mostly for the cover art but then I read the synopsis and decided to give it a chance and I’m really glad. I’m not a very good reader but I couldn’t put this book down I loved the light heart fluffy mixed with some spicy bits and it’s shift in narrators. I now know my favorite author and can’t wait for the next in the series and will be reading her other books while I wait.

Humorous Antics
Witcha Gonna Do by Avery Flynn, book one in the Witchington series, is a fun witchy, small town, enemies to lovers romance. Tilda Sherwood is a member of the most powerful family of witches. However, she is a null; having no magical abilities, handling her family’s social media presence. While using a matchmaker, she repeatedly gets set up on dates with Gil Connolly, her nemesis. When she somehow causes her sister’s spell to glitch, she needs to turn to others for help. Gil believed in Tilda; believed she had hidden, magical powers. While helping her group of misfit witches Gil fell for Tilda, despite pretending otherwise. In typical Flynn style, this enchanting story, set in an imaginary world, filled with magical secret societies and interesting characters is a light and humorous read, alternating points of view between Tilda and Gil. There are unpredictable humorous moments that will endear Tilda and Gil to readers; as they share off the charts, sizzling chemistry and humorous, clever banter. Both Gil and Tilda change and develop as the story progresses; discovering new aspects of themselves. Themes within this story include family, friendship, lies, deception, secrets, resistance, power, romance, and so much more. I recommend Witcha Gonna Do to other readers. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Light and Fluffy Romance
An unlucky witch and her know-it-all nemesis must team up in the first of a new, spicy romantic comedy series from USA Today bestselling author Avery Flynn. . . . Thank you Berkley Romance for the ARC. Overall, this was a light, fluffy read that I breezed through. Gil was the redeeming character for me, as Tilda had her Hillary Duff moments. I WILL be reading the next book because it is going to be amazing. 3.5/5 stars
