What could be more Klutzy than a machine that performs a simple task through an elaborate chain reaction? The answer, of course, is a wacky chain reaction built of LEGO bricks. With this in mind, our team of experts, educators, and 11-year-olds helped us invent 10 machines that swing, bounce, spring... and teach kids the skills.

Requires additional pieces, poor book quality.

Many of the solutions shown in the book require additional pieces. Book construction quality seems lacking. Pages tear easily. Would not recommend. This is more of a starter kit than stand-alone product.

    False Advertising

My daughter was super excited to get this kit and at creating…. However, after we got to fourth element we were out of pieces…. Yes, we bought her extra bricks because you do need some of your own… however, for example, the kit comes with only size 1x12 bricks with holes and kit advertising you can make a chain reaction with 6 machines but then doesn’t supply you with enough of the elements to complete the chain reaction. The box even says “everything you need” on the back… not true…

    A bit complicated

I bought this for my grandson who's turning 11. I'm worried he may be a bit young for it. It's not what I expected, the book is quite large and is full of experiments and design builds. How to make a ramp, a pivot, a ramp holder and seesaw. You get the idea, definitely not something he can play/build on his own. A good parent and child activity and as he learns he can certainly grow into the book part of it.
