Decline in quality

I am comparing this product from last year's model. I liked the version I purchased last year and decided to order this year's version. I found the quality and design inferior. The prior year's model, is proportioned better plus the lid has a plastic piece that allows the lid to seal better. This year's version (gold version) does not. When the unit arrived and I open the box, I was disappointed.
