Pretty dress with strong odor

The dark blue is very dark, in some lighting it almost looks black. My daughter would not try on the dress because it had a very unusual odor, she said it smells like fish. It was somewhat of a chemical smell so I don't know if the fabric was treated with something or if it picked up the odor from something else. Otherwise I think it would have been very pretty.
