Was Warm but never got hot enough to cook the food

We used this for thanksgiving to cook baby carrots with a honey butter sauce. After 10 hours on low, the carrots were warm, but not cooked enough to be fork tender. It became the joke of Thanksgiving as the food was served and the day passed, how many more hours until the carrots would be done. Next time I'll cook the food on the stovetop, and put it in this to keep warm on the counter for serving. We tried cooking sweet potato on high, but again, it never got hot enough to cook them besides warming them. I don't live near a Macy's to return it.

Perfect Queso pot

Bought two previously. One for self, one for a gift. Great for queso or other appetizers for pot luck. Or for just one or two people for smaller portions. Looking for holiday trim so I will not be buying this year for another gift.
