Disappointed

This is supposed to be a gift for my best friend. I just took it out of the shipping box, which was in perfect condition to find a partially ripped box. When I opened it to ensure it wasn’t broken the paper was ripped and the inside of the box was ripped as if it had been opened and returned.

The handle is melting

I’m torn! Should I return it. The handle is melting. I’m afraid the paint is going to melt off too. I have never had it higher than on medium. What to do?????
